The Position
A supportive pastor role in an Irish church to support and develop the leadership of a young national pastor. The ideal candidate will be gifted in pastoral care, disciple-making, and music is a plus. Day-to-day work includes engaging the local community, discipling young adults and young families, and providing theological education. A spouse with hospitality giftedness and a desire to develop a women’s ministry.
The Need
Many people have “given up on the church” in Ireland. Many see it is an out-dated, unwanted, authoritarian institution and many others have grown apathetic. The Irish culture is very relational; difficult to make friends, but, once a friend, always a friend. The need is to build relationships of trust that can bear the weight of truth. This need permeates the entirely of Ireland.
The Impact
This couple will play an integral role in developing the national partner’s vision and leadership, and, once that church is firmly established, will start another new church with another national partner. Think of this impact as a “gospel entrepreneur” who invests, operates, trains a replacement, and then moves on to do it again.
