The Position
We are looking for an International Students Outreach Coordinator to serve in Odesa, Ukraine. This individual will work with students from diverse backgrounds—Indians, Africans, Arabs, and others—who have come to Ukraine for education or work. Their primary role will be to coordinate Ukrainian language learning courses and conversation groups to help students integrate into Ukrainian society. Additionally, they will organize Bible studies in English, plan social outings, and host events that foster deeper relationships and trust.
This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with people from many different cultures, providing both practical support and gospel opportunities. The coordinator will work closely with Odesa International Fellowship, an English-speaking international church, helping students find community and grow in their faith. Ideal candidates should be relational, adaptable, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment. Experience in teaching, event coordination, or cross-cultural ministry is helpful, and a passion for discipleship is essential.
The Need
Ukraine is home to thousands of international students from countries where the gospel is less accessible. Many come seeking higher education, but they also find themselves in an unfamiliar culture, often struggling with language barriers, isolation, and homesickness. Without a strong support system, many international students feel disconnected from both Ukrainian society and the local church.
A dedicated outreach coordinator can help bridge this gap by providing language-learning opportunities, fostering community, and offering the hope of Jesus Christ. By meeting practical needs and building meaningful relationships, this role provides an avenue for international students to experience the love of Christ in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The Impact
International student ministry is a strategic way to engage in the Great Commission. By reaching students in Ukraine, we have the opportunity to impact future leaders who will eventually return to their home countries. Many of these students come from nations where Christian outreach is restricted, making their time in Ukraine a unique opportunity for exposure to the gospel.
Through language classes, social gatherings, and Bible studies, this role allows for genuine relationship-building that leads to spiritual conversations. Working alongside Odesa International Fellowship, the outreach coordinator can help international students find a church home, grow in their faith, and even become ambassadors for Christ in their own communities. This ministry is not just about helping students adapt to life in Ukraine—it’s about equipping them with the gospel and sending them out to be lights in the world.
