Help Reach Latin America With the Gospel

At ABWE, it is our desire to see the good news of Jesus spread across the earth like the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14) and save souls. But the scale of that task can feel overwhelming.

Even in Latin America, where the gospel has taken root, many regions are plagued with the pain of broken families, drug addiction, and a shallow form of Christianity corrupted by false doctrine. How can we reach them for Christ?

At age 14, Martín Torres hit rock bottom. His drug-addicted father had repeatedly abandoned the family, leaving Martín to find work in their impoverished neighborhood in Lima, Peru. His last hope dissolved when his father returned—only to steal Martín’s meager savings.

Late that night, too distressed to sleep, he begged God, “Either end my life or transform it.”

Martín suddenly remembered the implications of the gospel he had heard as a child. “I understood that God was not only my Savior but also my Father,” he said, “and he not only wanted to change my life but to use it for something very special.”

A gifted musician, he began playing music in a local church. As a young adult, he left his career in music to attend ABWE’s seminary, with the help of a scholarship, knowing that he needed solid biblical training to reach other Peruvians for Christ. He now pastors a church plant focused on reaching those involved in the music and film industries, and he still partners with ABWE missionaries—the men who previously taught him in the faith—to train the next generation of church leaders for gospel impact.

“[T]he most wonderful thing is how God can use me to transform the lives of other people,” he said recently.

By training local church leaders like Martín, ABWE missionaries in Peru are not only seeing Jesus save the lost but are also developing a force of committed believers dedicated to flooding Latin America with the gospel it so desperately needs

Nearly 1,000 ABWE missionaries are fulfilling Christ’s commission across the globe. But their task is too big for any one team. That’s why ABWE partners with local churches to identify, train, and send additional missionaries who are prepared to spend their lives proclaiming Christ among the nations.

Our Global Gospel Fund makes that possible.

Through the Global Gospel Fund, we provide vital preparation to send and sustain new missionaries—who reach locals with the gospel, train them for ministry, and partner with them to reach others whom we could never access alone.

Would you consider partnering with us as we flood the nations with the gospel? This spring, we’re trusting God to provide the $65,000 needed to send 10 new missionaries—enough to form a full field team.

A single gift to the Global Gospel Fund can help share the life-changing message of Christ through new missionaries and partners like Martín.

We are truly grateful for your partnership in the gospel. Thank you for your passion for Christ and for his mission.
