How To Share The Gospel

Episode 3: Building Relationships

The book of Matthew calls us to be “the light of the world,” but how is this done if we spend too much time inside our Christian bubbles? We are to be the salt of the earth but to do so, we must live an intentional life on mission within our relationships the Lord brings across our path.

Discussion Questions:

  • Why might Christians struggle to initiate conversation and invest relationally with unbelievers?
  • What does being salt and light look like in your life? How can you intentionally take that first step within the next week?
  • Why is it important that the action of lives match the words of our mouths as Christians?

Bible Verse Meditation: Matthew 5:13-16, ESV

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Prayer

“Lord Jesus, would you renew our minds and refresh our daily living as we go about our day-to-day sharing your light and being your salt of the earth? Help our actions match the words we speak as Christians to reach someone today, tomorrow, or in years to come as your witnesses.”
