How To Share The Gospel
Episode 5: Painting the Bigger Picture
When we hear a story that makes us excited, don’t we want to know more about the characters and the backstory? What’s the bigger picture surrounding this one event? The gospel is the same way when we look at the entire story of the Bible.
Discussion Questions:
- Why is context so important when presenting the gospel?
- How do we explain Christian words like “sin” or “atonement” to people that have never heard?
- Why is authenticity so important in today’s culture and why is it important to not oversimplify the presentation of the gospel?
Bible Verse Meditation: 1 Corinthians 1:27-31, ESV
“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, sothat no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Prayer
“Heavenly Father, please use us as imperfect and broken people to do your will and share your message of hope with others. Help us when we feel inadequate to share the gospel boldly with others who need you desperately.“
