Community Health Evangelism (CHE)

What is CHE?

Community Health Evangelism (CHE) is an approach to medical missions that combines evangelism, discipleship, and church planting with disease prevention, poverty alleviation and community health and development. CHE addresses both the physical and spiritual needs of individuals, so that people become followers of Jesus and communities are transformed.

CHE models can be adapted for many different geographic, social, and political contexts, and the approach can take various forms, such as community-based, church-initiated, church-based, family-based, school-based, clinic-based, or government-initiated.
