We Are Zealous for Christ and His Gospel

We believe in doing the long, hard work of missions. We believe that the Great Commission means not only sharing the gospel but discipling new believers in the local church and helping biblical, healthy churches multiply and reach their own nations. By God’s grace, we seek him to do what only he can do and spark global missions movements that extend beyond ourselves—through the power of the gospel at work in the local church.

We put Jesus in first place. Our calling is centered on Christ alone. Everything we do, from our partnerships to our programs, begins with a desire to honor Jesus as our highest priority, in every interaction and every outreach effort. He is the foundation of our mission and our message.

We celebrate the gospel. We hold fast to the truth that the gospel transforms lives, communities, and nations. Central to this belief is our confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture to accomplish God’s work in the heart. We believe that through the Word of God, hearts are convicted and changed, and lives are forever transformed. The gospel is our core message, and we share it clearly and boldly, trusting it to bring true salvation and renewal to everyone who hears it.

We strive for a biblical family atmosphere. We’re committed to a family-like culture that supports one another in Christ. Our community includes not only individuals but entire households, embracing children and families in the mission. We believe that God has called us to walk together as a family in Christ, supporting and encouraging each other as we seek to glorify him.

We pursue humble confidence. We approach our mission with a humble awareness of our limitations but also with a deep zeal to see the nations won for Christ and to give the Lamb the reward he is due. This balance fuels our courage to go wherever God calls, relying on his promises and strength rather than our own abilities.

We share our lives and possessions. Recognizing that everything we have has been given to us by God, we seek to hold our resources with open hands. Our purpose is not to build a tribe or grow a single organization, but to contribute to the growth of Jesus’ kingdom. We desire to steward what we have been given for God’s glory, seeking to advance his mission above all.

Robust, Biblical Missionary Training

Since our momentous 1927, we’ve come alongside our 400 partner churches and thousands of supporting congregations as they send and support over 1,000 missionaries in 89 countries around the world.

Rooted in our Baptist faith, we stay focused on the gospel, carrying a solid theological foundation into the unreached and lost people groups and nations where we serve. Each missionary receives extensive training to prepare them for the core of the missionary task: evangelism, disciple-making, church planting, training and multiplying leaders, and partnering with qualified local leaders to see healthy, self-sustaining churches emerge. Through engaging training and educational programs and practical support, our missionaries step onto the field ready to fully dedicate themselves to the work God has called them to do.

Committed to the Local Church

At ABWE, we believe that the local church is God’s primary instrument for fulfilling the Great Commission. We are a family of more than 450 like-minded churches and more than four thousand supporting churches, all united in a single focus: to see churches established, multiplied, and strengthened among every nation and people group for the fame of Jesus Christ. Every ABWE ministry is driven by this conviction that the church is at the heart of God’s mission.

A Global Family of Ministries

We serve churches through three key ministries: ABWE GO, Live Global, and EveryEthne.

• ABWE GO is our primary, long-term missionary-sending effort, helping local churches train, equip, and send missionaries to serve among the unreached, making disciples and planting churches that can stand on their own.
• Live Global partners with national believers already serving in their own countries, empowering them as they reach their communities with the gospel, plant churches, and disciple new believers. This partnership allows us to support and learn from the church abroad, recognizing the Spirit’s work through his people even in settings without a cross-cultural missionary presence.
• EveryEthne focuses on mobilizing and equipping churches across North America to reach their communities through evangelism, church planting, and discipleship. By helping congregations grow and thrive, we’re laboring to see the gospel transform lives in cities, towns, and neighborhoods across the US and Canada.

Through these ministries, we walk alongside the church, convinced that healthy, biblical churches are the hope of every community and the key to reaching the world for Christ.
