ABWE Internship Program

Unlock God’s Call on Your Life

You sense God moving. You want your life to count for the gospel. ABWE offers two internship paths — one at our headquarters, one on the field — where students and graduates do real work in service of the Great Commission.

Most internships waste your time

You end up with another line on your resume and the same unanswered question: How can I serve Christ with my life?

ABWE gives students and graduates a place where that question gets answered through real work alongside people who have devoted their lives to the nations.

Two ways to intern with ABWE

IHQ Internship

Based at ABWE’s headquarters in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Work across departments, find your focus, and see how a global missions agency operates from the inside.

Field Intern Track

On the mission field alongside ABWE teams. Receive mentoring from veteran missionaries, meet real needs, and get an up-close look at long-term missionary life.

IHQ Internship — Headquarters Program

Based at ABWE’s headquarters in Mechanicsburg, Pa., this program gives you broad exposure to a global missions agency and focused experience in the area where you’re most gifted.

Interns engaged in group learning

Phase 1

Rotate

Spend time across ABWE’s departments — communications, finance, HR, missions engagement, IT, events, and more. You’ll see how a global missions organization actually works, and figure out where you fit best.

Phase 2

Focus

Transition into one or two departments that match your strengths. Take on real responsibility, contribute to active projects, and develop skills that matter beyond this program.

Phase 3

Launch

Present a capstone project to ABWE leadership. Leave with experience, mentorship, and relationships that open doors — to further study, employment, or long-term missions.

What you’ll gain

This is not observation. Your work will contribute to a mission that has planted more than 5,000 churches across 84 countries.

Hands-on experience

Real projects with real stakes. You’ll contribute to the mission, not just watch it happen.

Weekly mentorship

One-on-one meetings with a supervisor who invests in your professional and spiritual growth.

Professional development

Workshops on leadership, communication, nonprofit operations, and vocational discernment.

Spiritual formation

Regular devotionals, prayer gatherings, and community with staff who have given their lives to gospel advance.

A capstone project

Every intern completes a project that addresses a real organizational need and presents it to ABWE leadership.

Paid — housing available

Paid hourly wage. Housing assistance available if needed. Professional development resources included.

Areas of focus

After your rotational phase, you’ll specialize in one or two tracks based on your skills and interests.

Communications and Graphic Design

Content creation, digital marketing, and visual design in service of a global mission.

Ministry and Missions Engagement

Work in mobilization, church partnership, or field operations. See how ABWE equips and deploys missionaries.

Finance and Accounting

Hands-on nonprofit financial operations, donor stewardship, and budget management.

Human Resources and Administration

Support the people who make global missions possible. Develop skills in organizational culture and staff development.

IT and Audio/Visual

Apply technical skills in a ministry environment — systems, production, or digital infrastructure.

Corporate Events and Facility Management

Plan and execute events that connect missionaries, churches, and supporters.

Who should apply

More than professional development

You’ll grow alongside people who pray together, open Scripture together, and care about where God is taking you — not just what you can produce.
