The Position:

ABWE is seeking missionaries to serve alongside an established refugee ministry in Southeast Asia. This opportunity focuses on evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and local church strengthening among displaced people from Muslim-background communities. A growing church has already been planted, with trained leaders leading Bible studies throughout the week, and the need is for additional workers who can come alongside this ministry, help deepen discipleship, and provide long-term stability as current pastor prepare for future transition.

The Need:

Southeast Asia is home to one of the world’s largest Muslim-majority populations, and many refugees and asylum-seekers live in and around major urban centers while waiting for long-term resettlement. Many have experienced displacement, uncertainty, and spiritual searching. In this setting, there is a rare open door to build relationships, share the gospel, disciple new believers, and train emerging leaders who can reach their own communities with the hope of Christ.

The Impact:

Missionaries serving in this role would help strengthen an already fruitful ministry where former Muslims are coming to faith, being baptized, and learning to lead others to Christ. The long-term impact could extend far beyond one city, as refugees from multiple nations are discipled and equipped to carry the gospel into their families, communities, and future places of resettlement. This is an opportunity to serve where the need is significant, the response has been encouraging, and trained gospel workers can help multiply healthy church leadership for years to come.
