The Position
If you have a heart for building bridges in a community that needs the light of Jesus, we want you on our Gambian field team. Use your creativity and leadership skills to connect people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ by planning fun and engaging events that will attract adults and children. One of the first steps in church planting is Biblically and creatively engaging the community that we want to reach with the gospel.
The Need
With over 90% of the Gambian people being Muslim and less than one percent of them being evangelical believers, there is a great need for reasons to engage the community. Equipped with Bible resources in the Wolof language and Fulani, you can develop meaningful relationships in the community to share Christ’s love. While English is the official national language of the Gambia, a willingness to learn their language and culture is necessary to minister to their spiritual needs. The heart of ABWE’s focus in The Gambia is a ministry to Muslims and unreached people groups. We seek to share the gospel, plant churches, disciple, and prepare Gambians to become the future leaders of local churches in every region. Will you join us in reaching out to this community?
The Impact
You will play a vital role in spreading the gospel to people who would have never otherwise heard of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We need more disciple-makers like you so that we can respond to The Gambia’s growing hunger for the truth. Our vision is to have missionaries strategically located in every region throughout the country. With your skills, you will get to evangelize, disciple, and prepare new believers in The Gambia to help fulfill the Great Commission.
