The Position
ABWE Construction project participants will serve on a project for anywhere from a week to a career. In most cases, individuals or teams serve for two to four weeks at a time. In other cases, a participant might commit to stay at a project site for several years to see it through to completion.
Skill sets needed include: general trades work, carpentry, masonry, steel fabrication, site work, concrete, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology.
Current opportunities exist in:
- Papua New Guinea – Goroka Baptist Bible College – Over the past 40 years, over 400 graduates have planted more than 100 churches and created an explosion of people wanting to study God’s Word – more people than the college has room for.
- Tsiko, South Togo – Hospitale Baptiste Biblique (HBB) – A full service medical center meeting physical needs to open the door to addressing spiritual needs.
- Mango, North Togo – Hospital of Hope (HOH) – A full service medical center meeting physical needs to open the door to addressing spiritual needs.
- New Cumberland, PA – ABWE International Headquarters – Facility used as the central hub to service over 1,000 missionaries, 75 staff members, and thousands of churches, groups, and community members.
When a missionary field team envisions a project that would help provide meaningful ways for them to build relationships, bring development into new areas, and help meet needs within the community they are serving—ABWE Construction enlists Construction Project Participants to build that vision into reality.
Once construction is ready to begin and throughout the process, our team works alongside volunteers and hired nationals, equipping and training them in the skills of building and maintaining the project. Our goal is to further demonstrate the love relationship of Christ in a very different way than these people may have ever experienced.
The Impact
Construction project participants become the hands and feet of God, bringing a vision to reality before the eyes of many who often cannot grasp the reason you would travel so far to help them—let alone engage with them. Consider partnering with ABWE Construction and help us carry out our mission to fulfill the Great Commission through proper planning and construction of ministry-related facilities around the world.
