The Position
Are you an educated pastor who could serve as a servant-leader and train national pastors in theological education? As a pastor mentor in Norway, you’ll work with existing evangelical churches to provide essential training, guidance and discipleship.
As a pastor mentor, you will:
- Partner with existing Norwegian churches from Lillehammer to Trondheim in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation — essential skills, as Norwegians value these traits immensely
- Be satisfied with a quiet leadership role, instead of dominant or “up-front” styles
- Provide guidance and assistance to pastors and their wives, and share your deep knowledge of Scripture
- Bring a love for people and the heart for ministry to a land whose people value patience, experience, excellent listening skills and intellect
The Need
Over the past 60 years, theological liberalism and the charismatic movement have affected Norway’s church. There is also growing materialism and secularism. The good news is that God has raised a new generation of faithful believers who are passionate about the gospel! ABWE’s goal is to help these church members share the Word of God with those who have open hearts. You’ll work with national partners who provide opportunities in campus evangelism, youth ministry and support for existing congregations who are struggling. The opportunity to reach Norwegians is great — will you answer God’s call?
The Impact
The existing churches in the Lillehammer and Trondheim regions need experienced servant-leaders who can assimilate into Norwegian society. Your opportunity to share God’s message through pastor mentorship in Norway is incredible, and the number of lives changed forever by Scripture is immeasurable.
In addition to pastor mentorship, there are additional opportunities in theological training, family counseling, youth ministry, evangelism, campus outreach and discipleship.
