The Simanyene Center for the Disabled in Cape Town, South Africa, is looking for a couple or individual with a heart for children and adults who are less fortunate. A group home is currently being built to provide 24-hour care for children and adults who attend the disability center during the day. A degree and/or equivalent experience in managing a group home for physically and intellectually disabled individuals is required.
South Africa is very behind in caring for the needs of the disabled. Their schools and special centers are full. Many children are left at home during the day by themselves, with no schooling whatsoever, especially in the impoverished communities. The government simply cannot handle the need. Waiting lists to get into special schools can take years. Our children come from an impoverished community with little to no help for therapy. The Center currently caters during the day to 22 children/young adults with disabilities. Many of these students are expected to become residents at the group home upon its completion. The need is for an individual or married couple to manage the residential facility or group home, as well as oversee the caregivers and staff who will provide care for the children and adults who attend the day center and also require residential care.
Simanyene Center for the Disabled exists to glorify God by supporting children and young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The Center is a ministry of Simanyene Bible Church. Our mission is to help each individual reach their full, God-given potential.
