The Position
Has God given you a passion to teach English as a Second Language? Our team is looking for flexible, relational, open-minded and self-starting families, professionals, grads and/or interns to teach English as a Second Language.
We are seeking qualified people with a burden to share the gospel as part of their ministry in teaching English to Portuguese nationals.
The Need
About 75 percent of Brazilians identify as Catholic. In the last three decades Brazil has also grown to be the largest Pentecostal nation of the world. Only four percent of the 200 million people claim to be non-Pentecostal Evangelical believers. In Southern Brazil, less than two percent of people identify as Christians.
In 2015, the nation of Brazil entered into a widespread economic crisis. The financial recession is real, crime is high, and the overall morale among nationals can be low at times. We are praying that God will use this difficulty to soften hearts, open eyes to the Gospel and give many hope during these times. Will you join us?
There are many Brazilians, of all ages, who wish to learn, or refine their written and spoken English. We seek individuals to partner with missionaries and Brazilian nationals on the ground and use their English ministry to share the gospel, plant and multiply local churches, train leaders, and ultimately, assist Brazilians to continue fulfilling the Great Commission by sending out their own people as missionaries.
The Impact
Use your love for teaching English to share the gospel. At ABWE, we want to make sure the words of Jesus are clearly understood. From Scripture translation to resource development, our ministries are bringing the message of the gospel to people and cultures around the world ultimately in their native languages. We need qualified, creative people who are passionate about working with languages to reach others with the hope and message of Jesus Christ.
