The Position:
Partnering with ABWE Team Ecuador and with EMS-Exalting My Savior, an ABWE ministry in Ecuador, this position seeks to help reach the local Emergency Medical Services community. There will be overlap with ministry to firefighters, police officers, military, and hospitals. Paramedics and EMTs have a deeper understanding of one another due to the constant response to tragic situations. Many have lost hope and are passing through life on cruise control. They need someone to share the hope of Christ with them (Rom. 10:14-15). This is currently being accomplished In Ecuador through providing pre-hospital emergency medical trainings, station visits, ride-a-longs, intentional Bible studies and connections to local church bodies. This position would best be filled by a Paramedic, EMT, and/or ER physician that would love to share the hope of Christ with this specific group of people.
The Need:
ABWE Team Ecuador and EMS-Exalting My Savior currently have many doors open amongst all levels of first responders, military, and emergency rooms. There are more requests than the current team can manage. Ecuador is currently undergoing an internal armed conflict with the military and police battling drug cartels. There’s a current threat against first responders, military, and their families. They need someone to be the light to them. Through courses such as Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and many others, the Gospel is shared, and they are connected to local churches for continued evangelism, discipleship, and growth.
The Impact:
ABWE Team Ecuador and EMS-Exalting My Savior has seen first responders and spouses trust in Christ and become involved in local churches. They are continuing to mature in their faith and seek to raise up national leaders.
