The Position
Would you like to be a part of a significant opportunity to impact the eternal future of those who remain separated from Christ by religious and cultural barriers? At the same time, are you content to serve without being the one in the spotlight of ministry? Do you like to use your gifts to benefit others and see a ministry exponentially grow? Then you are a much-needed member of our Suriname national missionary training and mentorship team. You will be partnering with local men and women who have been called to be cross-cultural missionaries in their own country with the goal of seeing churches planted among Surinamese Muslim and Hindu communities. We would welcome those who are experienced in cross-cultural church planting and those who may have little experience but are willing to learn.
The Need
There are an estimated 110,000 Hindus and over 80,000 Muslims in Suriname. However, there has been little focus on taking the gospel cross-culturally and planting churches among these religious communities. Laborers are desperately needed for this harvest field. Local churches in Suriname are welcoming humble and dedicated servants to walk shoulder to shoulder with them as they bring the message of the gospel to those who have been unengaged with the good news of Jesus Christ.
The Impact
Our Vision is to see Caribbean churches taking the gospel to unreached communities of Hindus and Muslims resulting in believers from these communities taking the gospel back to their people and former religious communities, seeing laborers from the harvest reaching the harvest for Christ. We are seeking a diverse team of faithful men and women, including families and singles, who have a passion for taking the gospel to the Hindu and Muslim people groups of Suriname. We are praying for laborers who are willing to make a long-term commitment to building redemptive relationships, training and mentoring Surinamese pastors and churches, and seeing them plant churches where Christ has not been named. This ministry will require prayer, determination, patience, and creativity to engage these unreached communities with the gospel. 2 Timothy 2:2 “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” If God is calling you to be a part of His mission in Suriname?
