We are forming multiple teams to build a brand-new duplex cabin from the foundations to the finishes. No matter what your specialty is, you can be a valuable team member to help accomplish this cabin! The Purpose: The purpose of PACT Romania is to create a setting in which individuals, families and groups can escape the demands of their everyday life and devote their attention to engaging Jesus through excellent and effective camps, retreats, and training programs. | Trip Dates: Below is a tentative itinerary of the various trips: August 22 – 31 – Layout, Drill & Install Concrete Piers – High Intensity September 1 – 9 – Frame & Dry-In Cabin – High Intensity September 7 – 21 – Electrical & Plumbing Rough-In – Medium Intensity September 12 – 21 – Heating, Slab, Insulation, Drywall, EIFS – Mixed Intensity September 19 – 28 – Finish Drywall, EIFS, Septic Systems – Mixed Intensity September 26 – October 5 – Paint, Tile, Septic Systems – Mixed Intensity October 3 – 16 – Trim Carp, Electrical & Plumbing Trim-Out – Medium Intensity OR stay for multiple trips! The Need: ABWE|Construction is looking for volunteers with skills in multiple areas (see above). Costs & Logistics: Launch Point (ABWE’s Application Platform$100 for Training and Insurance Flights – Range from $900 – $1,200 In Country Costs – $75/night (double occupancy at local hotel); $60/night (camp cabin) All in-country meals provided All in-country lodging provided All in-country transportation provided Passport Required No Visa Required No Immunizations Required Intensity Scale: This Trip will include varying intensity levels. See each trip above for more details about intensity.Will include power and hand tools, lifting and installing materials.Projected workdays will fluctuate depending upon arrival & departure dates with a typical 5-6 day work schedule and worship & rest on Sunday. Intensity Scale Descriptions: -High Intensity: 8-10 hour work days, heavy lifting, shoveling, working at heights -Medium Intensity: 7-8 hour work days, moderate lifting -Mixed Intensity: Multiple tasks available requiring differing intensity levels. *Please note that ABWE will never ask any volunteer to perform any work for which they do not feel comfortable or beyond their physical limits. |
