Supervisory Responsibility: Mobilization Department Staff

Job Summary/Primary Role:  The primary role of the Director of Mobilization is to serve as a key representative of ABWE, promoting its Global Family of Ministries through public speaking, strategic relationships, and leadership. This role focuses on inspiring and implementing effective missionary recruitment strategies while leading a motivated team to guide prospective missionaries along their journey toward official approval or appointment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Representing ABWE’s Global Family of Ministries by engaging in public speaking at churches, conferences, colleges, and other events.
  • Engaging in dialogue with pastors and church leaders to resource and inspire their sending efforts.
  • Leading the development and execution of missionary recruitment strategies aligned with ABWE’s vision and values.
  • Establishing departmental goals and objectives and leading the team to achieve them.
  • Training and equipping the Mobilization team to carry out their roles effectively, fostering collaboration and motivation.
  • Developing and overseeing a relationship cultivation strategy for prospective missionaries, including lead generation and management.
  • Overseeing and refining workflows for departmental personnel and applicants, ensuring efficiency and positive applicant experiences.
  • Approving and implementing tools and technology to enhance mobilization efforts.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure cohesive marketing strategies, social media presence, and promotional efforts.
  • Conducting regular one-on-one meetings with team members and holding departmental meetings to establish and review objectives, milestones, and progress.
  • Crafting and managing the departmental budget.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

 Qualifications:  Ability to pass background check and all necessary clearances as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies, or related field required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Minimum Prior Experience Required: relevant supervised ministry experience required. Previously acquired cross-cultural experience highly preferred. Previous pastoral ministry preferred, with the ability to effectively preach/teach in churches.

Travel:  Ability to travel within the United States; occasional international travel may be necessary.
