The Position
Our missions team is looking for student interns who have a passion for serving in an area of the world that is less than 1% evangelical. As a student intern serving with our Japan team, you will have the unique opportunity to serve:
- in Bible studies
- in a Coffee shop outreach
- in an English class outreach
- in a Music Concert outreach
- through Evangelism and Discipleship
If you are feeling God nudging you to serve in the 10/40 window and are passionate about building relationships for the sake of the Gospel, this is definitely the internship for you!
The Need
Japan is reaching a crisis point. Of the 126 million Japanese living in the country, less than 1 percent have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Worse still, many Japanese have never seen a Bible, spoken with a Christian or heard of Jesus Christ. Japanese missionaries are leaving the country at alarming rates as churches are closing due to aging congregations and retiring leadership. Where there is darkness, there is opportunity for light. Working with ABWE in Japan, you can use your people skills to build impactful relationships and bring innovative ideas to the ministries in Japan.
The Impact
Japan is one of the most challenging places in the world to work in missions. Japan’s churches and our team desperately needs energetic, enthusiastic teammates to join us! With many Japanese churches expected to close over the next 20 years, you can infuse vital spirit into our communities and help the Church grow.
