English as a Second Language

English Language Ministries

Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL or TESL) opens doors for the gospel to be shared around the world, even in the hard-to-reach countries. ESL instructors can use this time to show their students Christ-like love and exemplify the true meaning of the gospel to those around them.

Use Your ESL Skills For Missions

If you’re passionate about teaching and sharing the gospel, this opportunity may be right for you. We walk alongside each teacher as they prepare to leave for the field and support them throughout their time abroad.

Our team tailors training to each individual’s needs. They base it off where the instructor will be serving and who they will be teaching. Those who teach in a language institute will need a different level of training than someone who teaches conversational English to his neighbors. It’s our job at ABWE to help those who go excel in teaching and outreach in the communities where they live and serve.

For more information about levels of training and English teaching competencies, explore the ESL/EFL Teaching Competencies Guidelines.

Is God calling you to use your skills on the mission field?
