The Resurrection and the Mission

The resurrection reminds us that Jesus is Lord over all—and his plan is moving forward.

When I was growing up, Easter was always a big deal.

At my grandparents’ house, it meant dressing up, eating a big breakfast, going to church, and then coming home for a great meal and an Easter egg hunt with my cousins. I remember my grandmother singing in the choir, my grandfather recording the service, and the smell of Easter lilies filling the church.

I knew everyone was celebrating something important. I just did not fully understand what made it such a big deal. The older I get, the more I understand.

Easter is a big deal because the resurrection changed everything.

When Jesus rose from the dead, he removed every question about who is really in charge. He proved himself Lord over sin, death, and the grave. Death no longer has the final word for those who belong to Christ.

The resurrection also reminds us that God’s plan is moving forward. Jesus did not die by accident, and he did not rise by chance. God was carrying out his purpose all along. That means our lives are not random. Our obedience, our witness, and even our suffering can all be used for his glory.

That is why Easter is such a big deal. It is also why missions matters.

Around the world, millions still have not heard this message of hope. Missionaries are sharing the good news of the resurrection and making disciples among those who have little access to the gospel.

This Easter, your gift helps bring the hope of the resurrection to the nations.

Jesus has risen.
Death is defeated.
God’s plan is moving forward.

Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday!

In Christ,
