The Vision Continues

An American missions agency was planning to build a Bible institute on a large plot of land they purchased when a radical change occurred within the Latin American country’s leadership and all of the agency’s missionaries were suddenly expelled.

In an effort to preserve years of ministry momentum, the missionaries begged a Brazilian church leader to consider buying the property, knowing that Brazilians were still welcome in the country.

The pastor agreed, even though he didn’t know how he would be able to continue their work.

But God had a plan.

Just a year earlier, ABWE’s vision for world missions sparked Brazilian believers to establish Maranatha Multicultural Ministries (MMM), a Brazilian-run mission agency. God called two families from the Brazilian pastor’s church to serve as missionaries with MMM — perfectly positioning them to take over the jeopardized ministry.

With God’s help, these Brazilian missionaries are making a tremendous impact in the area that surrounds the Bible institute. They’ve planted two churches, and last month, the Bible institute graduated its first class of 15 students — future pastors and church leaders who can continue to serve in this limited-access country.

Because of your generosity, ABWE’s vision to spark global missions movements that extend beyond ourselves — where leaders are trained, mission-minded churches are planted, and believers are compelled to carry the message of Jesus to every nation — is unfolding in real time through agencies like MMM.
