How do you respond when you unexpectedly lose a loved one?
Daniel Calle experienced this firsthand, and he chose to trust God’s calling on his life.
Daniel and his wife met and were saved in the youth group of an ABWE church plant. Two weeks after their wedding, Daniel’s brother collapsed while leading worship and instantly passed away.
Through this tragedy, Daniel and his wife learned to trust that God would be with them no matter what—and they sensed a renewed call to ministry.
Daniel had already been studying at ABWE’s Baptist Theological Seminary (BTS) in Lima, Peru. He began his next semester with a deeper passion for God and a desire to serve him as a pastor. During his training, ABWE missionaries mentored and discipled him in a local church. Daniel now serves as pastor of Chapel of the Rock Baptist Church in Lima and teaches at BTS to train other Peruvians to become pastors, church planters, and missionaries.
God is raising up people like Daniel to be the next leaders of the Latin American church. They need in-depth biblical training to become qualified pastors, counselors, and church leaders who live faithful lives of service to their communities and to God—training which ABWE missionaries and national partners at BTS offer with excellence.
Is God leading you to help prepare these believers to reach Peru and beyond?
