“If only there was enough evidence, I would believe in God.”
Have you heard this before?
The Apostle Paul affirms that God can be known, because of what God has shown. The Lord took great effort to make his existence crystal clear to everyone. Plain can be translated manifest. It means to be clearly and easily known. Shown means to make clear.
Verse nineteen provides the reason God revealed his wrath mentioned in verse eighteen. People act as if God has NOT made himself known. They push down this truth. They disobey, not out of ignorance, but rebellion. God is angry about that.
Pick any people group in the world, reached or unreached. God has already shown himself to them through creation. Missions is the call for us to make him known to them through Christ.
Faith comes through hearing the word of Christ (Rom. 10:17).
This week, let’s pray:
Lord, You have made it plain to all that you exist. I ask that you make it plain to the church that our task is to make you known by proclaiming Christ.
