ABWE Is Still Giving Thanks in 2020—Here’s Why

As the year comes to a close, we are looking back on all the reasons ABWE has to be thankful.

In 1 Chronicles 16:8, David inaugurated history’s first Thanksgiving by proclaiming, “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name; make known his deeds among all peoples.”

David’s call to give thanks reminds us that God is the source of all of our blessings—our livelihood, strength, and everything and everyone that we love.

Martha and I are thankful to our great God for you. As crazy as 2020 has been, we’re grateful that God has called us to serve a team as creative, flexible, and tireless as our ABWE missionaries.

Despite all that 2020 has dished out, God has chosen to bless ABWE in the following ways:

  • We’ve had another record year of giving
  • Our missionary team grew for the second consecutive year
  • New mobilization pathways have helped retain and retool our missionaries who are changing seasons of life and ministry
  • Our missionaries have remained healthy throughout the pandemic
  • The gospel was declared in more than 80 countries
  • New fields were opened
  • Tens of thousands of patients were lovingly cared for by our hospitals

Whether you’re a giver who allows so many to proclaim the gospel, or if you’re a goer who declares that good news, thank you for serving the Lord.

Through your faithfulness, you have helped to heal the sick, care for the poor, and free those in spiritual bondage. Happy Thanksgiving!
